Power Electronics Design Engineer – Power Supply job available in Edinburgh, Scotland
£40,000 – £45,000 basic per annum + benefits
One of the world’s biggest research and development companies, with an engineering facility based in Edinburgh, Scotland are seeking a capable Power Electronics Design Engineer with Power Supply experience to join their growing team.
They create cutting edge technology for Aerospace and Defence applications in their state of the art, fully equipped facility in the heart of Edinburgh. They can offer roles at all levels to match your skills and experience within the Power Electronics team including Hardware Engineer, Senior Hardware Engineer, Principal Hardware Engineer and Lead Hardware Engineer
What sort of work would I be involved in?
The primary role is to lay the groundwork for the future Power Systems required in the near and far term. The role includes the opportunity to develop your technical skills in the design phases of the up and coming Primary Power Supply including PSU topology analysis and associated new technologies.

Note, that due to the nature of the tasks involved, you will have to achieve full SC security clearance, and may need to satisfy further UK eyes only and ITAR conditions.
Job requirements:
- Strong experience in electrical power systems including AC/DC and DC/DC switched mode power supply design, ideally within a highly regulated industry (aerospace, defence, medical, etc).
- An academic background in Power Electronics or Hardware Electronics design.
