The Contract Test Technician Role in Woking:
We are seeking an experienced Contract Test Technician in Woking to join the production and test team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on test activities, supporting technicians, fault-finding down to the component level and ensuring all electronic assemblies meet strict quality standards.
You will work hands-on with complex electronics, follow established processes and contribute to ongoing improvements across the manufacturing and test functions. This position is fully on-site in Woking, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities for the Contract Test Technician in Woking:
• Lead and deliver hands-on testing of electronic assemblies
• Support and guide Test Technicians when required
• Execute test activities throughout the full manufacturing lifecycle
• Perform electronics assembly inspection and verification
• Use oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters and other bench equipment
• Fault-finding electronic circuits and assemblies down to the component level
• Follow all technical documents, drawings and procedures
• Maintain traceability and documentation in line with ISO9001
• Contribute to continuous improvement and zero defect initiatives
• Work autonomously within established engineering processes
Key Skills for the Contract Test Technician in Woking:
• ONC or HNC or equivalent in Electronic Engineering
• Strong knowledge of IPC standards
• Confident in component-level fault finding
• Skilled with standard bench-top test equipment
• Experience in a high-technology electronics or manufacturing environment
• Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
• Ability to work independently with strong time management
• A continuous improvement mindset with high-quality standards
