Field Application Engineer – Power Electronics
Maidenhead, Berkshire – £45 / £55k + Bonus + Bens
If you are a passionate engineer with experience designing power electronics for AC-DC or DC-DC switch-mode power supplies using various topologies then this Field Application Engineer – Power Electronics job could be the perfect fit for you.
Our client is a Silicon Valley-based supplier of high-performance electronic components used in high-voltage power-conversion systems. Their integrated circuits and diodes enable compact, energy-efficient AC-DC power supplies for a vast range of electronic products including mobile devices, TVs, PCs, appliances, smart utility meters and LED lights.
They have a brand-new Sales and Applications facility based in Maidenhead, Berkshire where the Field Application Engineer will be based. This role involves regular travel and will allow the Field Application Engineer to work from home periodically.
Main Duties:
You will support European distributors by providing technical guidance both in person and over the phone. This will include delivering training to distributors on the equipment, giving product presentations to prospective customers and providing support with any product failures.
You will also provide essential customer feedback into the design process and will help to optimise theoretical designs, participate in design reviews and ultimately help to build customised hardware, including HV transformers.
As you progress within the role, you will gain responsibility for the technical strategy of key accounts so an experience of Account Management would set you up well for this role.
Skills and Experience Required for the Senior Power Electronics Engineer:
+ Degree in Electronics Engineering (BEng 2:1 or higher) with disciplines in power
+ Experience of power electronic converters (AC:AC, DC:DC, DC:AC) and/or motor drives
You will also need to have a background in Electronics Design with experience working with Power Supplies. As this is a field-based role, previous experience travelling and interacting with various stakeholders at customer sites would be highly beneficial.
The salary is open ended depending on experience + comes with excellent bonuses, benefits and relocation assistance if needed.
