We are looking for a Product Line Manager for our Fire Service Strategic Product Marketing team to have global responsibility for the Bristol and Bell product line. While reporting to the Global Product Group Manager, this individual will be based in Yate and have the opportunity to manage product lines within the Bristol turnout gear (Structural, Wildland and TechRescue), hood, boot and glove portfolio that are distributed to regions across the world. Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the global Fire Service strategy (i.e., leverage head to toe strategy).
- Gather and document robust voice of customer (VOC) as a critical input to new product development.
- Develop innovative ideas based on trends and customer and end-user insights.
- Serve as a key member and leader within the new product development teams.
- Provide input to the development of the annual product portfolio and long-term business strategy for the product group.
- Provide input to global and regional steering teams.
- Track and report product line performance metrics.
- Manage new product launches and the product life cycle process while working cross functionally with Customer Marketing.
- Support forecasting revenue and unit demand for Operations and Management.
- Analyze the competitive landscape and market trends that impact the product line.
- Work with customer-focused marketing teams on planning and development of all marketing collateral, content, and demand creation programs.
- Work with MissionOps team to support continuous production of products.
- Play an active role in all product quality issues including monitoring and resolution.
- Develop regional product strategy in targeted markets with emphasis on design and fabrics.
- Develop and maintain overall fabric and supplier strategy in collaboration with sourcing.
- Identify future market opportunities, define requirements, and lead NPD efforts on new fabrics with key partners.
- Ensure alignment towards Bristol’s strategy along the value chain – i.e., from fiber manufacturer to weaver.
- Lead the gate review process for PID activities.
Qualifications
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Proven ability to exhibit strategic thinking skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Solid presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data and take appropriate action.
- Proven ability to execute and exhibit a results focused mindset.
- Proven relationship building skills.
- Ability to grasp the technical aspects of the Globe product lines and corresponding applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Up to 25% international/domestic travel.
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience in high performing textile industry, ideally with understanding of the EMEA/INTL fire service market
- 4+ years of experience in marketing, sales or product development (engineering)
Education and experience preferred:
- MBA or related graduate degree
