Description
Purpose of the role:
The purpose on this role is to expand our existing capacity to deliver novel MEMS sensor technology. We would be very interested in candidates that can bring new capability into the team.
Responsibilities
- Ideation of new sensor technology and product concepts and contribution of them to Flusso’s roadmaps, in line with business strategy;
- Design and development of MEMS devices for sensor products, typically involving:
- Study of existing technology and coming up with novel MEMS concepts
- Contribution to MEMS wafer process requirements and specifications
- Theoretical and numerical analysis
- Modelling & simulation.
- Validating modelling/simulation results with experimental data
- MEMS layout and design
- Materials specification and selection
- Provide inputs for and review qualification specification and tests.
- Packaging recommendations for new MEMS
- Contribution of ideas for the creation of protectable IP, and in drafting patent applications;
- Design of experiments and hands-on testing for proof of concept for new designs and ideas;
- Analysis of test data to extract information about true performance of new sensing technology, products and solutions;
- Participation in project planning activities, in particular for estimation of time/effort needed for sensor development tasks;
- Reporting project task status and presenting results for peer review in project team meetings;
Requirements
Qualifications, knowledge, skills & experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering or Science subject. Post graduate degree preferred.
Extensive experience of development of at least one MEMS device. With significant know-how (including knowledge of relevant tools) of one or more of:
- Simulations and/or layout
- Wafer process development and fabrication
- Device characterisation & testing
- Device qualification
Preference will be given to candidates with and knowledge experience of the following aspects of MEMS sensors:
- Materials
- Mechanical analysis
- Package design
- Relevant patents and/or publications in the field.
