ABOUT THE COMPANY

ABOUT YOU
You will have a proven track record of delivering in a fast-paced environment and able to work to tight deadlines to provide a first-class service to the customers. Degree in Engineering discipline and/or extensive demonstrated experience.
Required skills and experience
- Strong technical understanding and experience of EV/Powertrain test facilities (or similar)
- Working knowledge of systems such as battery simulators, Invertor drives, motors, dynamometers, Fuel systems, etc
- Building and test cell infrastructure including HVAC, chilled & process water systems, exhaust systems, climatic control systems, building management systems, etc
- Experience of combustion engine, EV powertrain, battery, and hybrid system test operations is desirable but not essential
- Designing, documenting and interpreting drawings for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and the fault finding and rectification of such systems
The following would be beneficial although not essential:
- PID control knowledge/experience
- PLC control systems
- CAD design skills
- Software knowledge
- 18th Edition qualified
- Communication Network Design – Ethernet, CAN, EtherCAT etc.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
- Specify, procure, install, and commission electrical and mechanical systems to support the facilities across 2 sites and 38 test cells covering combustion engine, hybrid, transmission and electric powertrain testing
- Maintenance, repair and upgrade to general building infrastructure & systems
- Develop, evolve and maintain PPM schedules in line with manufacturers recommendations and/or engineering judgment
- Contribute to the planning of end-to-end delivery of CapEx projects supporting Intertek’s expansion strategy
- Identify and champion the design requirements to meet good practice and other specific requirements including Machinery directive, Low Voltage Directive and EMC directive
- Contribute to department KPI data as agreed with PS&F Manager to drive a step-change in department performance
- Manage external suppliers of critical equipment and services to ensure efficient equipment operation
Based in Milton Keynes.
Permanent. Full time – 37 hrs; Mon-Fri: Core hours 32.5 (8am-3pm) & other 4.5 hrs as required; 30 min lunch (unpaid).
