An exciting opportunity has opened for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Scientific Instrumentation to join scientific research team based near Didcot, Oxfordshire. Our Client is a market-leading provider of advanced hardware and software solutions for cutting-edge research and technology. As Contract Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with team on prototypes, development and support on existing electron microscopy and X-Ray products.
It is an Outside IR35 contract therefore we accept candidates operating via their limited companies. Our Client, based near Didcot, Oxfordshire, offers remote working with occasional trips to site as and when the project requires is.
Key skills required for Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – 3 months initially, Oxfordshire/ remote. ASAP:
- Experience using SolidWorks (ideally with your own licence).
- Experience designing enclosures with metal, including aluminium, steel, copper and lead.
- Experience of enclosures for electronics, including cabling (routing in and out of vacuum)
- Experience in small moving parts
- Design for low volume manufacture (10s of)
- Exposure to Scientific Instrumentation
- Exposure to shielding or vacuum related technology would be beneficial
