Requirements

Antenna Calibration Engineer

We are looking for an outstanding, self-motivated RF/Antenna Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation antenna terminals for satellite communications. As Antenna Calibration Engineer, as part of the Systems Team you will be responsible for developing, implementing & testing the calibration methodology for the novel antenna architecture.

The successful candidate will have a history of active phased arrays from the digital through to RF and complexities of calibrating these type of systems. Experience with phased arrays, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, frequency conversion, ADC & DAC is required.

Responsibilities:

• Development, simulation & verification of calibration system performance
• Specification of requirements for software development
• Development of calibration verification procedures and processes
• Generating comprehensive results-oriented reports for internal and external purposes.

Experience:

• Antenna measurement and performance verification.

• Experience of a range of antenna array types and element designs (e.g. patches, waveguide etc.)
• Experience of integration of active TX/RX electronics in antenna arrays.
• Design and testing of antennas and arrays at mm-wave frequencies
• Understanding of interactions between antenna element design, feed network and active electronics design
• Knowledge and experience of active array antenna test and measurement, both S-parameters and radiation characteristics.
• Experience of developing for harsh environmental conditions
• Experience developing for low cost / high volume production
• Strong Matlab/Python/similar skills

Our Offices and Covid Secure Working

We operate out of the UK and USA, with our Head Quarters in Reading. As a pre-revenue start-up, there is lots of fast moving change and development so our UK team are based in modern offices in Reading, Berkshire (COVID-19 permitting!). This means that everyone can be involved and play their part in key stages of the work we are developing.
