A leading manufacturing company in Portsmouth, Hampshire, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing R&D team.
This company is renowned for developing and manufacturing electronic components to a global customer base across various industries, including aerospace, defense, medical, and automotive.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead R&D projects, from concept through to production. Your focus will be on designing specialised machinery and automated systems for internal manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects in collaboration with the R&D team
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software
- Conduct design reviews to ensure quality and feasibility
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) effectively
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in designing with sheet metal or machined plate materials
- CREO, experience with other CAD software will be considered
- Previous experience in designing complex machinery and automation systems
