This exciting opportunity is accountable for the strategic direction, communication & content of the VTPS-B program for the Vacuum Techniques business area. This role supports the deployment, learning, & compliance of the VTPS-B program within all operational divisions, ensuring that the voice of the customer (VOC) is understood and relevant.

 

Working with the divisions to build a team that coaches and trains associates in behavioural thinking, lean methodologies & ensures a talent pipeline, through a systemic platform. The role will lead consistency of purpose, provide thought leadership of organisational structure within the divisions in support of the programs and ensure that resource is available to deliver operational excellence.

 

In addition, the incumbent, on behalf of the Operations Council, will be the Business Process Sponsor for the Manufacturing & Offsite Product Service Council.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Improve operational efficiency, focusing on bona fide business value by contributing to the business area profitability.

 

  • Provides & owns the strategy for the VTPS-B by developing and implementing new processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency.

 

  • Supports the strategy of process excellence and drives change through analysing data to identify operational trends and opportunities for improvement.

 

  • Provides the strategy of continuous improvement by coordinating with other departments within the organization to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.

 

  • Responsible for organizational excellence by leading projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.

 

  • Responsible for building a platform from which we can gain forward-looking leadership, people, and the right culture.

 

  • To set, maintain, and audit standards meeting business needs of all brands and M&A by developing new processes to streamline operations and improve customer service.

 

  • Owns the VTPS program enterprise-wide, all Brands, including the integration of M&A also ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO9000, TS16949, ISO14001, ISO 45000 etc.

 

 

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

 

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the management and employees at all levels, including global cultural experience & understanding.

 

  • Must possess strong leadership capabilities and the ability to empower and influence members of different teams.

 

  • Strong focus on quality, accuracy, deadlines and orderly work and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from divisional management, the local teams, and customers.

 

  • Well organised, displaying clear, rational and analytical approach to problem solving and planning.

 

  • Remains calm under pressure and has the ability to find creative and pragmatic solutions. Willing to look for / explore new solutions or methods.

 

  • Must be proactive, making sure that red flags are highlighted, that action plans are put in place when / where necessary and that an open communication with internal and external parties is maintained.

 

  • Flexibility to travel to multiple Edwards locations nationally and internationally on a regular basis.

 

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite. SAP, MES & PLM experience are all highly desirable.

 

  • Proficient in English; written and spoken is a must. Competence in other languages will be a positive.

 

 

Qualifications / Education / Certifications:

 

  • Bachelors (or higher) degree (or professional equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or closely related discipline.

 

  • Formal Lean certification or recognition of professional education within a business environment e.g. Six Sigma / Shingo.

 

  • Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years with demonstrated ability to deliver large complex change programs.,

 

  • Previous management experience in an engineering / manufacturing company is preferred.

 

  • Experience in leading operational excellence and other improvement projects.

 

  • Demonstrated skill and achievement in implementing Lean practices in a manufacturing environment.

 

  • Solid experience with successful execution of innovation, step change or transformation programs.

 

Scope of the job:

 

Role supports global revenue of US$4bn across six (6) Divisions and ~40 product company and service technology centers / sites.

 

Role has a global remit irrespective of brand, product, or division and will be based in one of the product companies, service technology centers or the Home Office with travel as needed to other locations.

 

Role is expected to integrate & manage through business continuity aligning M&A activity to the excellencemodel.

 

Be a key member of the Operations Management Team, reporting to the Operations Council Chair: be a driving force for the product company / service technology center overall performance and image. Be familiar with Atlas Copcos The Way We Do Thingsand Business Code of Practice.

 

Role requires a flexible working pattern to enable collaboration and interaction with the global team.
