REPORTING TO Manufacturing Engineering Manager
ROLE As part of the manufacturing engineering team having responsibility for meeting business performance commitments to key stakeholders. Responsibility for improving and defining new processes for product release to manufacture. Managing cost improvement objectives and technical support of the operational function. Support the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required.
QUALIFICATIONS Engineering (Optics/Electronics/Mechanical/Software) Degree/HND or equivalent preferred.
MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide technical support to manufacturing with respect to product/process design and functionality.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support with NPI projects.
• Support the technical issue escalation process from manufacturing, with the appropriate level of on hand shop floor support in each production area.
• Drive implementation and maintenance of LEAN and CI practices across the organisation.
• Drive disruptive cost reduction plans into existing processes, potentially benefitting from technology elsewhere in G&H group.
• Resolve issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identified.
• Support transfer of Beta level product to release to manufacture, optimising cost through process, material and yield in collaboration with Development Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Support the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required.
• Support best practice operational process for clean rooms.
• Drive culture of Manufacturing Engineering excellence.
• Support Product Configuration (currently PCR) and engineering change processes.
• Manufacturing engineering support for RMA’s
• Support Quality, Supply Chain & Manufacturing Managers ensuring all aspects of the business support the needs of our customers.
• Participate in regular performance reviews and set personnel objectives in line with the business strategy.
