Test Engineer

The Test Engineer will be required to thoroughly test and inspect PCBs and assemblies to ensure our customers receive quality assured products. You will run tests on various components and features in order to identify and fix technical issues.

You will work closely with the Production team to understand the product specification. Then, you will run a series of tests depending on product type to ensure it meets its specified standard, and identify and diagnose any malfunctions that could arise. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our final products meet our quality standards and customer expectations. You will also action the customer’s test requirements and report results.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the production Manager, you will be working as part of the Service and Delivery Department to service customer returns and repair production failures.

  • Support production operators with day-to-day technical issues
  • Analyse test results, detect issues and track root causes
  • Suggest fixes and improvements
  • Document technical issues and solutions
  • Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards
  • Follow Customer test requirements and send test reports
  • Write reports on fault diagnosis and recommended solutions to a standard that can be sent to a customer
  • Maintain a detailed record, in line with company procedures, of faults found, identify if systematic or one off, supplier defect, manufacturing defect (STL), other e.g., customer, logistics
  • Work to deadlines and understand the importance of SLAs (service level agreements)
  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Test Engineer or similar role
  • Familiarity with various testing techniques and use of equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators and in-circuit debugger/programmer
  • Ability to troubleshoot and root-cause problems
  • Analytical mindset
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Level of competency with Microsoft Office, including Excel & Word
