A very successful R&D / Engineering organisation based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear are seeking a Business Development Manager who has worked in an Electronics based product design company to join their state of the art research and development facility.

Role

The Business development Manager will be responsible for bringing new, innovative services to commercialisation, effectively managing business risk and the commercialisation of those services.

• Assisting the business in the assessment and creation of business cases for new services.

• Providing market insights and business cases to create a competitive, commercial offer for new services.

• Leading and managing the prioritisation, development, and implementation of New Services.

• Establish client account performance measures that will form part of the key account management requirements for the business pertaining to the new services.

• Work closely with the sales managers and key account managers to identify customer requirements. To work closely with customers to satisfy their requirements for new services, to grow revenue and margin.

• The BDM will focus on new customers, new markets and accounts with growth potential.

• Create and maintain a strong network with customers / potential customers

• Provide market insights to create commercial offer for new services

Experience

• Candidates will ideally have experience working- in technical BD roles within engineering or manufacturing sectors, subsea, telecomms or power sector experience would be highly desirable.

• An entrepreneurial mindset, constantly looking for the next opportunity and reviewing future trends in markets which will drive new revenue streams.

• Excellent analytical skills to review and structure complex commercial products and service offerings.

• Proven track record in developing relevant networks and managing complex stakeholder groups internally and externally.

• New business development with the ability to develop strategic relationships with key customers.

• Can do attitude with the ability to work in an agile way to respond quickly to changing needs.

• Demonstrable track record in taking new products to market.

• Must be able to work autonomously
