Position Summary:

Reporting Head of Configuration Management, support the development and implementation of a Configuration Management Strategy across the business.

Initially this role will be to address a extended leave of absence for a current member of staff which will facilitate understanding of the tools and current configuration management approach. In parallel and moving into the permanent position the role will be responsible for the Configuration Management process re-engineering activities for the Group whilst taking on a Global role in a SAP S4 Hana environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working for the Head of Configuration Management develop Configuration Management Policy and Practices (together with deployment and training) globally with an initial focus on the RF Business
  • Provide coverage for Sr Config Mgt Specialist whilst on extended absence in the following areas:
    • Product manufacturing expansion management for Configuration Management matters
    • BOM Scrub
    • BOM Management including upload and update
    • Change management
    • Part requests and management
  • Position will interface with management Peers in BOM ^ Data Management together with Change and Release Management to best leverage global resource and strategy (leveraging S4 Hana where applicable)
  • Development of a Configuration management audit strategy and plan covering Physical/Functional Configurations, ECR Detail, Traceability, Tools management etc initially trialled at the Gloucester site prior to global deployment
  • Perform the role of Gloucester Change Control Board Manager
  • Perform BOM Comparisons as required
  • Provide Global Support and Training to the Configuration Management Team
  • Assist in developing the capabilities of the Configuration Management Teams
  • Deputise for the Head of Configuration Management when not available
  • Assist in ensuring SAP S4 Hana and Configuration Management strategy are strategically aligned with Gloucester migration path
  • Assist / Drive transition activities within the Config Management Team from current systems to SAP S4 Hana
  • Manage the local ECR system leveraging the Change and Release Management Team resource
  • Management of local resource where required

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Firm grasp of Configuration Management and how it is employed within an Engineering and factory environment
  • Knowledge of BOM structures and change management
  • Familiar with ERP tools and their usage
  • Ability to review ECR’s with the view of ensuring key information captured
  • Above average skills with Excel for data comparison and analysis
  • Strong leader willing to drive short and long term initiatives
  • Excellent communication and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Good management and decision-making skills; including strong organization, verbal and written communication
  • Understanding the relationship of Configuration Management Team to functions such as Quality, Project Management, Engineering etc
  • Candidate must be willing to perform international travel as required and when safe to do so
