EMBEDDED SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER

The company is currently expanding its UK operation designing video products for professional markets, creating an exciting opportunity to assist in the further development of state-of-the-art video products. We are seeking motivated and creative test engineer to join our embedded software team, keen to learn and contribute to the development of new products in high performance real time video.

The Embedded Software Test Engineer is part of the design engineering team and responsible for devising and automating tests for the validation of advanced product features and functionality. Candidate will participate in both early technology research and support the development of new products through coding, scripting and integrating new test equipment and capabilities. The position will involve interaction with development engineers, product requirements managers and testers within the quality assurance team. The role will also liaise closely with the Application Software Test team to co-ordinate test methods and systems.

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • First Degree Level (or equivalent) qualification in either software or other relevant subject.
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience debugging and troubleshooting embedded products.
  • Proven experience in code development for test and validation of embedded targets.
  • Solid programming experience in C++, and experience of scripting languages such as C#, Java and Python.
  • Ability to write automated white-box tests or unit tests.
  • Develop scripts for automated testing and system configuration.
  • Experience with Continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Ability to support CI/CD tool integration throughout the development life cycle.
  • Ability to automate tests all types of applications including desktop and web applications.
  • Experience installing and using desktop Linux & Windows.
  • Basic understanding of IP networks and protocols.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management & defect tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work co-operatively in a team environment.
