We’re a young company but expanding rapidly and this is a new role as part of a small team that will grow with the company.
Primary Responsibilities
As a small company that has started growing due to continued success, we are in need of an IT Manager to ensure scalability of our systems and prevent system failures.
This role will require the development, implementation of an IT Strategy that is relevant to the business needs and improve functionality. This involves managing the networks of the business on Google Workspace, the hardware assets and other software used by the company. It also involves being the technical expert and ensuring the security of our users, systems and company data.
It will also involve working alongside other suppliers for the uses of our unique GradTag system and will eventually include managing an apprentice to provide support in delivering this role.
Other Responsibilities
In this role you will also be involved with other projects, including but not limited to:
- – Provide customer service support
- – Taking on an Apprentice to support
- – Define and maintain a robust GDPR strategy & policy
- – Providing suggestions to improve process efficiencies
- – Ad Hoc Administrative Tasks.
Key Skills
Required
- 3 Years as Service Desk Engineer
- – Experience with Google Workplace
- – Ability to Analyse Software Solutions
- – Good negotiation skills working with external vendors & contractors

Pitch
Evess Group are a small company in Wixams, near Bedford who provide formal attire for graduations in the education industry. They offer a niche rental service that allows students to hire their outfits online via their web services booking system.
They currently have 17 employees and they’re at a stage now where they want an on-site IT professional on a permanent basis to support the day-to-day operations of the business.
This will involve a number of activities, including developing and implementing a long-term IT strategy, managing the networks of the business predominantly on Google Workspace, providing customer and service desk support, and maintaining the Hardware within the business.
As it’s a small team and an internal role, versatility and the ability to take ownership of IT within the company is really important for what we’re looking for.
Having spoken to the hiring manager, it sounds like it could be a really good opportunity to have a real influence on the management of IT systems and networks as the business grows.
