The Vacancy:
Purpose of the role
To prepare CAM files and manufacture parts
Duties and Responsibilities
To support the Martec Engineering Team with design and development of tooling solutions for hermetic product.
To support Martec Operations and external production facilities with design support and ongoing development of agreed hermetic tooling solutions.
To identify and promote best practice in tool manufacture and maintenance.
To manufacture mainly Carbon tooling using CAD/CAM techniques using the company’s CNC Milling Machine and manual Lathe.
To create and manage CAM programs for future manufacture.
To manage tooling and material stock levels to maintain continuous production.
Communicating with external suppliers to define the Make V’s Buy strategy for tooling.
To play a key role in the development of future processes and Capex requirements for tooling manufacture, to ensure Martec remains at the forefront of product development and manufacture.
To play a key role and support the Engineering team with Process improvement and product development.
Person Specification
Essential
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- Experience of Machining processes
- Experience of CAD and CAM
- Experience working within a team
Technical Knowledge
- Commercial understanding / business acumen
- Demonstrated understanding of CAD systems
- Demonstrated understanding of CAM systems
- Demonstrated understanding of Design and Manufacturing
Skills and Competencies
