PRINCIPAL STRESS AND SIMULATION ENGINEER – JOB NEAR TRING, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE (Hybrid working / Visa sponsorship available). 

A globally established and highly successful organisation involved in automotive, aerospace and defence technology are seeking a Principal Stress and Simulation Engineer to join their R&D innovation centre headquarters based near Tring, Buckinghamshire. In this unique, facility, they design and manufacture incredibly complex electro-mechanical systems from concept to manufacture. These systems involve rotational dynamics and electrical systems used in aircraft and transport applications. 

The Principal Stress and Simulation Engineer will be responsible for achieving technical performance during the whole lifecycle of their products. This involves simulation, fatigue analysis, stress and vibration testing of components and assemblies. This Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in developing high-value mechanical systems which are used globally. 

Key responsibilities of the Principal Stress and Simulation Engineer job:

  • Take responsibility for mechanical simulation work using Ansys. 
  • Stress and Vibration testing of components and assemblies. 
  • Perform hand calculations, and perform FE, vibration, thermal and stress analysis. 
  • Work closely with mechanical design and programme management to ensure product delivery. 

Key skills / experience required for the Principal Stress and Simulation Engineer job:

  • Strong vibration and fatigue analysis experience
  • Composite analysis experience
  • Strong Ansys and FEA experience
  • Strong rotor dynamics experience
  • LS-Dyna or containment analysis experience
  • CFD experience highly desirable 
  • Experience in the aerospace or aviation industry would be beneficial but not essential.
