MECHANICAL SUSTAINING ENGINEER JOB NEAR TRING, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE (Hybrid working / Visa sponsorship available).
A globally established and highly successful organization involved in automotive, aerospace and defence technology are seeking a Mechanical Sustaining Engineer to join their innovation centre headquarters based near Tring, Buckinghamshire. In this unique, facility, they design and manufacture incredibly complex electro-mechanical systems from concept to manufacture. These systems involve rotational dynamics and electrical systems used in aircraft and transport applications.
The Mechanical Sustaining Engineer will be the focal point for any technical engineering investigation support requirements. Supporting design, manufacturing, operations and supply chain, customer support & quality. This role directly contributes to the delivery and improvement of products and systems for successful customer project completion.
Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Sustaining Engineer job:
- Review and approve all mechanical design activities across the technical teams
- Conduct and co-ordinate engineering activities including detailed investigations in support of production/ in -service products
- Co-ordinating and work with other engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Producing all reports and documentation
Key skills / experience required for the Mechanical Sustaining Engineer job:
- Must have at least 2 years design experience of high-speed rotating equipment, shaft, structures etc.
- Good understanding of engineering materials and production methods relevant to them
- Experienced in fault finding, root cause analysis, testing and V&V
- Knowledge of electrical machines
- Experienced in managing components obsolescence / sustaining
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Mechanical design / development experience, with ability to review 3D designs
