MECHANICAL TEST ENGINEER JOB NEAR TRING, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
A globally established and highly successful organization involved in automotive, aerospace and defence technology are seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join their innovation centre headquarters based near Tring, Buckinghamshire. In this unique facility, they design, create and manufacture complexed and highly innovative electro-mechanical systems. These systems involve high-speed rotational dynamics and electrical systems used in aircraft and transport applications.
The Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, organising, executing tests, and writing technical reports to support Development and Qualification tests performed on electro-mechanical products / systems for Aerospace and Aeronautical markets.
Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Test Engineer job:
- Planning, leading and coordinating test and development activities on company products using various pieces of test equipment, including high speed drives, Environmental Chambers, Vibration Test Rigs and others
- Supporting maintenance and development of existing and future testing capabilities within the department
- Translating individual or multiple product requirements into validation plans
- Identifying failure modes and generating design validation test plans
- Performing data analysis of test results and writing of technical documentation, including test procedures, Reports, Compliance Analysis, Equipment Specifications and Production Acceptance Test Specifications
Key skills / experience required for Mechanical Test Engineer job:
- Extensive development knowledge and experience including Compliance Verification, Technical Risk and compilation of technical documentation
- Experience in product testing using various different pieces of test equipment, including (but not limited to): environmental chambers and vibration tables
- Experience in producing technical documentation and good understanding of risk assessment processes
- Knowledge of electric motors/smart motors and their operation in an electrical system
- Experience in Dewesoft & DasyLab, or use of LabView would be an advantage
