A leading engineering company at the forefront of the design of satellite communication systems are seeking a capable Procurement Manager to join their growing purchasing team near Hereford, Herefordshire
This organisation has well over 35 years in the industry and 200+ employees. Their requirement for a Procurement Manager has come about due to an exciting time of expansion within the business!
Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager job:
- Understand the business requirements and supply chain challenges in order to formulate a Procurement strategy with Senior Management.
- Define operational procedures and take ownership of the Procurement function and associated KPIs.
- Rationalise and consolidate the supplier chain.
- Support special products and projects including CAPEX purchases by liaising with various departments and suppliers to provide costing, price, lifecycle and availability information.
- Formulate frame agreements and participate in contractual negotiations to help build supplier and manufacturer relationships.
Key skills required for the Procurement Manager:
- Degree qualified or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of using an ERP System
- Highly analytical with good problem-solving ability.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
