Mission/Purpose of the Job

To continually optimise all zones Production, Cost, Safety and Quality (Zones 2-5), the goal is to deliver zero accidents; zero defects; zero lead time and zero cost growth. In short to create a VTPS environment where we can make things easier, better, faster and cheaper. The role will be based at Edwards Eastbourne.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operational activities through the Team Leaders to exceed performance in terms of

output, service levels, product availability, cost, and response to meet the commercial objectives of the business.

• Coach the Team Leaders to fully implement the Vacuum Technique Management System (VTPS) across all zones.

• Strengthen your operational team demonstrating strong leadership to ensure effective recruitment and selection,

objective setting, competency, and organisation development.

• Identify the future talent pipeline including succession planning by coaching, mentoring, and developing your

team.

• Ensure all zones fully comply with procedures governing safety (Risk Control Elements) and that the SHE program

(Visible leadership, reduction of physical risks and reduction of behavioural risks) is followed ensuring the

requirements of statutory legislation and ISO 45001:2018 are met.

• Develop and implement strategies aimed at improvements in manufacturing to achieve cost reduction, quality

improvement and systems development ensuring that the requirements of ISO9001:2018 are met.

• Ensure that all zones are as efficient as possible regarding the use of natural resources and fully comply with the

requirements of ISO 14001:2015.

• Establish, in agreement with the Operations Manager, improvement targets, developing and implementing action

plans to achieve continuous improvement in all key areas of responsibility.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Must have skillset-

• Considerable experience in multi-disciplined manufacturing environment

• Demonstrated history of leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, performance management and recruitment

• Significant record of delivering results in an operational environment.

• Experience of working with and implementing Lean principles.

• Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English.

• Significant skillset with MRP/ERP system, preferably SAP

• Significant skillset with Microsoft office, notably Excel

• Demonstrable experience acting from leading KPIs.

Desired skillset-

• Degree level in Engineering or Science discipline is desirable.

• Level 5 or greater in Operations Management

• Yellow belt or higher in Lean principles

• A knowledge of Surface mount technology and through hole technology is desirable.

• A history of communicating with Asian, European, and American colleagues
