Join Our Client as a Purchasing Manager based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
Overview:
Are you ready to lead a team towards creating robust and sustainable supply chain? Our client is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire to maximize quality and reliability in materials and components procurement while optimizing inventory and leveraging demand to secure the best costs. This role involves day-to-day management of the purchasing and stores teams, ensuring that resources and materials are readily available to meet KPIs and production needs.
Responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager:
- Develop and manage the team, overseeing the day-to-day activities of direct reports.
- Enhance the efficiency of the Stores function, focusing on improving material storage systems.
- Lead buyers responsible for subcontractors, suppliers, and setting KPIs.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the quality, pricing, and timely delivery of raw materials.
- Manage aspects of the MRP cycle and supplier forecasts.
- Review and enhance purchasing strategies to optimize stock levels.
- Evaluate and optimize the current supplier base for best price, support, and quality.
- Oversee negotiations with key suppliers and manage scheduled deliveries.
Requirements for the Purchasing Manager Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire:
- Education: Degree-level education required; Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Level 4 certification desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in electronics manufacturing/buying/procurement with management experience, understanding of electronics buying, and working with subcontract manufacturers in the UK and offshore.
- Skills: Proficiency in MRP data integrity and maintenance; experience in bespoke metalwork, including extrusions and sheet metal, desirable.
Other Details:
- Travel required within the UK and overseas to meet suppliers.
- Ability to occasionally work overtime.
- Compressed production hours (38hrs/week) in a factory-based environment.
