Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer

Job Description:

Purpose of position: We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Electronics Engineer to develop our next generation of mechatronic electronics products. Working in a dynamic engineering team, they will have involvement from Project Lead, electronics concept, circuit design and CAD entry to product qualification & manufacturing. The incumbent will also provide cover for the Electronics Engineering Manager during absence and in other meetings.

Training / education: Degree level in Electronics engineering

Professional experience and / or qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years recent practical design experience.

The individual must have experience of working within a formal product development lifecycle and a multi-disciplined development team.

Additional skills and requirements (IT, languages, extensive travel, Etc.):

Essential Skills:

• Providing Project Lead to other engineers.

• Defining work packages & technically managing 3rd party engineering services.

• Demonstrated ability to work within strict development processes.

• Ability to architect and integrate electronic designs.

• Development testing and evaluation of prototypes.

• Circuit simulation / tolerance modeling of analog & digital circuits.

• Design to maximize product reliability and life.

• Decomposition of product requirements to the implementation & design level.

• DFT & DFA process for mid volume electronic products.

• Practical & analytical thought process.

• Authoring and reviewing of comprehensive technical reports.

• Proven track record and practical ability in electronics.

• Demonstrate problem solving skills and be able to specify and implement solutions.

• Conduct work using a systematic and methodical approach.

• Reporting to Management team on departmental and project progress.

Desirable Skills:

• Processor circuit design based on Infineon’s family of processors.

• Knowledgeable in new electronics technologies and developments.

• Low power (<100W) SMPS design.

• Design experience in embedded wireless applications.

• Network technologies – Ethernet, CAN, Safety Architectures.

• FPGA VDHL experience.

• Knowledge of EN50128, EN50155, EN61508.

• Xpedition (Mentor Graphics) schematic capture and simulation experience.

Responsibility for personnel:

Position required technical management of a Team.

Indicative main responsibilities / duties (5-9 key outputs):

• Introducing new technology and methods into the electronic product range.

• Electronic Design (Full Life cycle).

• Reviewing and approving conceptual design & circuit architectures to meet safety standards.

• Writing hardware requirements specifications & technical reports.

• Systematically improving the reliability of electronic equipment through following a defined development process.

• Ensuring the electronic design meets regulatory standards.

• Providing technical guidance / expertise to other colleagues.

• Keeping up to date with developments in electronics technologies and regulation
