Job Purpose:

Working as part of a cross functional team, you will deliver both tooling and non-tooling related projects to support the growth of the business by working closely with the suppliers and integrating with R&D functions. In addition, identity and deliver improvement opportunities across the business and varying commodities.

NATURE AND SCOPE

 

How you will contribute

With the support and guidance of a manager, you will be responsible for the effect running of tooling and non-tooling-based activities, from start to the end of the project, ensuring they are delivered within the set time scale. Using your technical engineering skill set, understand constraints and benefits within the project to maximise the effectiveness and understand potential cost saving opportunities involved in the project. Key communication with the Commodity Manager to highlight any risks and understand key deliverables. Offering general technical support and guidance to the Procurement department by supporting to push time scales of all ongoing projects.

  • Relevant engineering degree
  • Prince 2 or relevant PM qualification

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Relevant experience of plastic injection moulding, high pressure die casting, pressings and other technical process.
  • Experience with tooling associate with the above commodities

 

  • Experience of electrical control drives and electrical principles
  • Experience of working closely with a procurement team

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and in particular Excel
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Tooling Project Control

  • Run renewal /refurbishment /repair projects related to loaned tools
  • Periodic visits to suppliers to understand condition of tools
  • Instigate technical improvements with tool design for improved quality and function
  • Liaise with the global team to support tooling function and technical support.

 

  • Engagement with internal customers including QA, R&D, marketing and manufacturing
  • Deliver projects within agreed time frame and priority.
  • Minimise reactive tooling repair and spends.
