NEW ELECTRONICS TEST TECHNICIAN ROLE IN WEST SUSSEX FOR A GLOBAL LEADER!
Our client based in West Sussex has a new Test Technician role which is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cost-effective testing and troubleshooting methods for systems and equipment. This role involves performing technical, multi-disciplined tasks in the Production Test Process to enhance tools and processes. The Test Technician utilizes data-driven decision-making and innovative technologies to provide optimal control and flexibility for effective and cost-efficient test solutions in the Operations process.
Essential Responsibilities for the Test Technician role:
- Drive continuous improvement in existing test processes, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost enhancements.
- Engage actively in Design for Excellence (DFx) to ensure products released to production have repeatable manufacturing and test solutions.
- Identify, propose, plan, and implement capital projects to make significant improvements in SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) metrics.
- Accurately estimate project costs associated with implementing test solutions.
Skills for the Test Technician role:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in operating various electrical test instruments.
- Competent in hardware and software development.
- Effective communication and influencing skills with design teams, vendors, and customers.
Experience required for the Test Technician role:
- Over 3 years of relevant manufacturing support and/or design/development team experience. Also open to Electronics Graduates, HNC and BEng.
- Proven ability to improve manufacturing test solutions.
- Application of Lean manufacturing techniques in a test environment.
- Root cause analysis for process improvement.
- Methodical problem-solving for complex, technical issues.
