My client, who are based in Coventry, are looking for bright engineers who want to see exactly how far they can take this technology. They have recently received investment and is looking to grow its team.

An Embedded Software Engineer role has come live, and they are looking for someone who will develop complete systems, from concept through to production.

Responsibilities as an Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects on time. Show disciplined engineering within a systems engineering framework
  • Sub-system design responsibility. Design, develop and deliver complex, safety critical systems
  • Take responsibility for all elements of your engineering, right through the process from requirement development to FMEA, verification, hands on testing of prototypes, and to production
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment and at the same time be willing to work as individual contributor with minimal supervision

 Ideally as a Embedded Software Engineer you will need to have experience in the following areas:

  • Embedded software development in C for different microcontroller platforms
  • Serial communications (UART, SPI, I2C);
  • Low level driver development experience (PWM, ADC etc.);
  • Debugging using IDEs;
  • Strong CAN protocol experience (communication with BMS and other sensory based sub-systems);
  • Full software development life cycle experience

Desirable skills/experience to have as an Embedded Software Engineer:

  • Digital power supply design;
  • Experience of working in a similar industry (e.g., agrotech, automotive, power electronics, aeronautical, robotics etc.);

Qualifications needed as a Embedded Software Engineer:

  • You will have a degree in electrical or electronics engineering with a focus on power electronics design.
