Published Description:

A leading research and development organisation based near St Ives, in Cambridgeshire are seeking a capable Mechanical Design Engineer – Instrumentation to join their continuously growing engineering team. You will get the opportunity to further develop and manage product improvement, working closely with NPI and Manufacturing teams.

As the Mechanical Development Engineer – Instrumentation you will create 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks. You will also manage product improvements, BOMs, working on root cause analysis, design calculations, and working closely with manufacturing on value engineering.

Skills / Experience required:

• Strong experience in 3D CAD design using SolidWorks.
• Exposure to PDM.
• Confident in Root Cause Analysis and similar problem-solving techniques.
• Experience with Bill of Materials (BOMs).  
• Exposure to Value Engineering and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
