3rd LINE IT SUPPORT ENGINEER JOB AVAILABLE IN NORTHAMPTON.

A very well-established IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) organisation based in Northampton are seeking an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join their growing team that specialise in workplace design.

Key responsibilities of the 3rd Line IT Support Engineer job:

  • Provide 3rd line technical support to customers
  • Provide a high standard of customer service at all times, ensuring are requests from customers are processed quickly whilst providing the customer with regular progress updates
  • Work closely with 1st and 2nd line support team and assist with training and guidance when required
  • Provide assistance to the service team for technical design, implementation and support of customer incidents and projects
  • Create and maintain suitable customer infrastructure / service documentation
  • Provide occasional on-site support at customer sites to resolve incidents

 

Key skills/experience required for the 3rd Line IT Support Engineer job:

  • Previous experience of providing 3rd line technical support for a Managed Service Provider
  • Experience of supporting a broad range of technologies and applications including: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, IIS, SharePoint, Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp, networking (DNS, DHCP, switches, routers), firewalls, databases, backup and security software and SQL server
  • Good knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems
  • Knowledge and experience within the Wintel environment
  • Expert knowledge and experience with supporting Dell and HP server / blade hardware
  • Knowledge of storage systems (e.g. Dell, HP or NetApp SAN) and virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V) would be highly advantageous
