Purpose:

To plan and manage projects that realise new High Voltage X-Ray Generator products in line with technical/commercial goals and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities of the role:

• Manage engineering resources in collaboration with the Engineering Manager, working directly with engineers in Byfleet and remotely with our facility in Newquay, Cornwall.
• Write and maintain detailed project plans.
• Implement and monitor project controls and metrics, defining tools required for timely assessment.
• Co-ordinate the project work and support engineering team members to enable effective execution of plans.
• Take minutes and record action items during project review meetings.
• Manage prototype builds and work closely with the Purchasing Manager and suppliers to optimise material sourcing/fabrication.
• Identify and manage project risks to keep tasks on time and on budget.
• Define and implement corrective actions if schedules/budgets are not on target.
• Communicate project status, issues and risks to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Implement a continuous improvement approach.
• Drive projects to deliver expected outcomes.
  

Person specification

• Knowledge of project management methods and principles.
• Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2 or APM) would be advantageous.
• Experience of creating / maintaining project plans.
• Familiar with MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Absolute attention to detail.
• Open to occasional business travel to our Newquay facility.
