JOB TITLE:      Quality and Business Excellence Manager

DEPARTMENT:      Operations

LOCATION:      Gloucester

TEMP/PERM:      Permanent   

HOURS/SHIFTS:      37 hours

         Monday to Friday

REPORTS TO:      Operations Director Gloucester 

SUMMARY

As Quality and Business Excellence Manager you will be responsible for managing the Quality team covering both systems and process plus the considerable change program within the Gloucestershire site.

The role will focus ensuring the Management system is being maintained in line with our Quality Certifications, ensuring quick customer complaint resolution and process controls are being followed, on Business Excellence implementation of a visual factory with key business KPI’s, and processes identified that focus on Operational controls throughout the site.

The role will deliver a high level of standardised processes with a heavy focus on coaching and development of managers and team members to delivery Quality and Lean mindset across the site.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with key stakeholders across business to identify improvement opportunities in alignment with business needs.
  • Track progress and take responsibility for site wide Business Excellence plan.
  • Manage Business Excellence – identifying or deliver training to ensure development of workforce.
  • Coach and support existing specialists in project activity and Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques.
  • Take lead in complex projects.
  • Implement Gemba site wide.
  • Develop a site strategy to deliver a visual factory and information centre.
  • Effectively lead and facilitate process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions.
  • Successfully implement a layered process audit and Kamishibi daily checks.
  • Research and implement best practice techniques in both Quality and Operational Excellence.
  • Deliver 5’s workshops with departmental managers.
  • Introduce 3’c boards across the factory, ensuring actions are closed out within a timely manner.
  • Audit the site Management system and ensure procedures/ processes are inline required standard.
  • Manage the team performance to ensure business deliverables are achieved.
  • Conduct regular one to ones with direct reports.

  • Development of close working relationships with the site management team
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests and tasks as requested by the Company.

environment

  • Six Sigma exposure/ experience
  • Kaizen
  • Experienced in 8D activities. 
  • Gemba/ 3c’s
  • Visual Factory knowledge
  • Process/ Product and Layer audit knowledge
  • Good knowledge of PPAP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans 
  • Capable of performing and administering Ge’ R&R, MSA activities 
  • Experienced in use of Microsoft office.

  • Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship. 
  • Lean six sigma trained.

  • ISO AS 9100 Rev D audit trained
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
  • Experience with leans manufacturing techniques, Kaizen and 5S
