Database Administrator

Approx salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits
This role is working with a global technology client based near Reading, Berkshire who are designing innovative medical and power management systems that are allowing companies to reduce their energy consumption and save the planet.
The Database Administrator is a newly created role and is an exciting opportunity to build and shape a framework to support a multidimensional Microsoft SQL database. You will be working within the data team, providing accurate metrics which will be utilised in reports and dashboards to help support the growth of the company.
Responsibilities of the Database Administrator job:
- You’ll be responsible for collecting data from multiple sources.
- You’ll be involved in the design of a multidimensional database using the SQL Server BI stack.
- Design, plan, debug, monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions.
- Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship between IT and business areas and ensure timely support of day-to-day business processing needs.
Key skills / experience required for the Database Administrator job:
- Background in Microsoft SQL Database administration
- Experience administering cloud-based database solutions (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with Databricks, Data factory, Data warehouse and similar data analysis and integration tools
- Experience with BI tools and systems such as Power BI or SAP Analytics
- Able to collaborate with global colleagues and present complex problems in a simple manner and to a non-technical audience.
