NEW PRODUCTION ENGINEER ROLE IN HAYES, MIDDLESEX

Our client is looking for a Production Engineer, they are a leading company in the field of communications and power industries based in Hayes, Middlesex. As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between product design and manufacturing. You will be involved in various stages, from concept to hardware build, taking ownership of build philosophy, maintaining change control, and ensuring robust manufacturing instructions.
Your key responsibilities for the Production Engineer will include:
- Providing shop floor support to resolve process and product design problems.
- Developing written specifications, procedures, and instructions for effective and efficient product assembly and testing.
- Recommending and designing tooling and jigs to achieve right-first-time product builds.
- Owning Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routings using our MRP system.
- Facilitating and owning the Change and Material Review Boards and processes.
- Raising and actioning Change Notes as required.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications for the Production Engineer:
- Minimum of HNC in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6 Sigma techniques.
- Experience with process improvement techniques including D.O.E and FMEA/RCA.
- Trained in statistical process control (SPC) and green belt Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in microwave/traveling wave tube manufacture and high voltage power supply manufacture is desirable.
