Mechanical Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a growing specialist engineering business.
The role will focus on the delivery, remedial works and adoption of foul and surface water pumping stations and associated mechanical equipment, working with major housebuilders, water companies, NAVs, customers, contractors and suppliers.

Working alongside the Adoptions Manager and engineering team, you will provide mechanical expertise while coordinating projects from inspection through to completion and adoption.

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Project Engineer job:

• Manage and coordinate mechanical works associated with pumping stations.
• Review inspection reports and identify defects and remedial requirements.
• Provide practical mechanical engineering solutions.
• Assist with quotations, project costs and procurement of parts and equipment.
• Liaise with housebuilders, water companies, NAVs, customers, contractors and suppliers.
• Attend sites to inspect equipment, investigate faults and support project delivery.
• Coordinate engineers and contractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality and timescales.
• Maintain accurate technical, project and financial records.
• Support the development of new business and commercial opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and relevant legislation.

Experience and skills required for the Mechanical Project Engineer job:

• Mechanical engineering experience, ideally within water, wastewater or pumping systems.
• Knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical equipment.
• Experience in project engineering, maintenance, fault finding and remedial works.
• Ability to read technical drawings, specifications and inspection reports.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Confident working with customers, contractors and suppliers.
• Good IT skills and a full UK driving licence.
