What success will look like for you, as Advanced Hardware Electronics Engineer
As an Advance HW Electronics Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of Battery Management System (BMS), the hardware involved for instrumentation and control of batteries for integration into the Vertical Aerospace aircraft. You will have autonomy to create the BMS hardware design specifications for in-house BMS/HW projects, as well as the design of digital and analogue electronics used in HV batteries, and schematics and PCB design with the use of Altium. There will also be a hands on need to run testing and de-bugging as and when required. You will report directly into the Battery Systems Manager and be a key member of the powertrain team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.
Please note this is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract role
What would we like you to bring
We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience and extensive knowledge in the harsh environment avionics, automotive and/or similar safety critical environment as well as strong knowledge of DO-254/ DO-160 standards, practices and processes. We’ll also need to see some of your experience within digital and analogue schematic circuit design, PCB layout and design verification. It’s also important to bring experience with FMEA, DFMEA, FTA and single component failure analysis and a good understanding of network protocols like: CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, ARINC.
Whilst we would like you to be able to accommodate hybrid working from our Vertical Energy Centre in Bristol, we will consider remote working, with infrequent in-person visits to our VEC site.
