Lead Engineer, High Voltage Battery Management System (BMS) – Based at Wellesbourne/Hybrid
Responsible for the design and delivery of HV battery management systems and subcomponents including software, with attention to design, performance, cost, safety, serviceability, and manufacture.
Role Objectives:
- Leading the generation of specifications and requirements for the BMS
- Responsible for design, development and release of hardware and the associated software development and release
- Responsible for collaborating with external BMS suppliers in order to achieve programme objectives
- Contribute to the authoring of FMEA’s, HV Design Standards and Test specifications to support sign off for the HV Battery system.
- Support of onsite Engineering test operations as required.
- Support concept development and early prototyping of next generation HV traction battery (BMS) designs.
- Support the drive for serviceability and repair solutions of HV batteries.
- Lead and support issue resolution (8D) activities for the BMS and associated software
- Support 3rd party engineering activities.
- Liaise with suppliers and purchasing to establish balanced technical and commercial solution.
Person Specificaiton:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Experience of BMS design, development
- Experience of software development
- Experience of design geometry, 3D and 2D CAD generation.
- HV AP/ SAP (Authorised /Senior Authorised Person)
- Experienced of issue resolution (8D)
- An appreciation of manufacturing and serviceability
- Experience of collaborating with tier-one suppliers
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to multitask and deliver within a reactive and demanding environment

Other Factors:
Travel within the UK and abroad maybe required. Role can be based in Wellesbourne or Hethel. Some travel to Norfolk to support the Propulsion team as required if Wellesbourne based.
