Buyer – Fordingbridge, Hampshire.
A leading name in bespoke design and manufacturing for high-tech sectors is seeking an experienced Buyer to join the Purchasing Team in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. With over 40 years of expertise, the company delivers agile, cost-effective solutions for aerospace, medical, and industrial clients from its UK headquarters in the scenic New Forest. Operating from Fordingbridge, Hampshire, and with strong links to the Far East, it combines hands-on UK engineering with global supply chains.
As a Buyer based in Fordingbridge, Hampshire you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of parts across the supply chain, supporting sales with accurate job estimating, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Reporting directly to the UK Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and the sales team to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Duties:

Analyse drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates

Collaborate with project managers, sales, and engineering teams to gather the information needed for precise estimating

Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms

Raise purchase orders and manage delivery schedules to meet production targets

Monitor material availability and resolve any shortages or delays proactively
Role Requirements:

Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing role

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards

Knowledge of currency markets and risk minimisation strategies

Strong maths, IT, and MRP system skills
-
Excellent communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders
