PCB Design Engineer | Huntingdon (Hybrid)

I’m supporting a leading engineering services provider in the recruitment of an experienced PCB Design Engineer for a key project based in Huntingdon. This PCB Design Engineer job offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronic assemblies used in military and aerospace applications, with a focus on high reliability, performance, and compliance with strict industry standards.
Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you’ll take ownership of the full PCB design process, contribute to signal/power integrity analysis, and ensure seamless integration with mechanical and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities for the PCB Design Engineer job:

• Full lifecycle PCB design using Altium Designer
• Perform basic signal and power integrity checks
• Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC, DFM/DFA/DFT, and quality requirements
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and production engineers
• Generate design documentation, drawings, and reports
• Address thermal management, high-speed routing, and grounding/shielding challenges
• Participate in design reviews and process improvements

Essential Skills for the PCB Design Engineer job:

• Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

• Proven experience in high-reliability PCB design, ideally in aerospace, defence, marine, or rail
• Expert in Altium Designer
• Confident designing with complex components (e.g. high ball-count BGAs)
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal design, and layer stackups
• Knowledge of analog/digital segregation, grounding techniques, and controlled impedance routing
• Skilled in design for manufacture and test (DFM/DFT) principles
