Continuous Improvement Engineer job available in Taunton, Somerset. In An exciting Continuous Improvement Engineer opportunity has arisen with a market leading manufacturer of precision engineered and optical components. My client specialises in delivering bespoke components which are used in innovative laser steering applications.
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will take responsibility for the planning and implementation of improvement plans across the manufacturing and production departments. Working within a cross-functional team in Taunton, Somerset, you will proactively identify improvement opportunities, gathering the necessary data and information to suggest effective improvements within the business. Working closely with the Manufacturing Manager, you will build area and department-specific improvement plans whilst helping to foster a continuous improvement culture within the business. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will aim to improve the overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of operations processes, ensuring they are in line with the strategic vision of the company as they embark on a period of change and growth.
Skills / Experience Required for this Continuous Improvement Engineer role:
- Experience in implementing continuous improvement procedures within a commercial environment
- Strong knowledge around Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Methods
- The ability to develop a CI structure in an environment where this is little standardization
- Experience in a relevant environment advantageous (Medical, Optics, Aerospace, CNC/Machining)
