Data Governance Manager

Reading, Berkshire/Hybrid

Approx salary: £80,000 – £95,000 + Bonus + Benefits

This role is working with a global technology client based near Reading, Berkshire who are designing innovative medical and power management systems that are allowing companies to reduce their energy consumption and save the planet.

They are streamlining and improving all of their internal processes and a big part of this is the increased digitalisation of their business systems.

For this reason they are looking to hire a Data Governance Manager. This is a newly created role and is an exciting opportunity to build, shape and implement a framework to support all global reporting and data governance.  In addition, you’ll provide leadership and oversight to the SAP S4 Hana Material Master Team, Power BI Specialist and Data Governance Team.

The individual in this role will perform the following activities for data governance strategy:

• You will be responsible for creating and enforcing policies for effective data management.
• You’ll formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
• Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
• Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
• You’ll support the Business Systems Director in the establishment of the Global Process Forum (GPO) and ensure that all data changes are governed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as data manager
• Background with BI tools and systems such as Power BI and SAP
• Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution)
• Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access etc)
• An analytical mindset with problem solving skills
