A BSc or HND with experience, or a minimum of 3 years relevant test experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technician or junior engineer to contribute and broaden their experience working on new and existing products within the design team. This is a wide-ranging role:

  • Hands-on debugging and hardware testing and recommending changes.
  • Component selection (talking to suppliers) and validation of new components.
  • Conduct product verification, writing reports to evaluate development phase products against specified requirements.
  • EMC testing in house and at a remote site.
  • Product validation, including writing reports at the end of a project.

There is an expectation that the ideal candidates experience will grow, allowing them an opportunity to move into a Design Engineer role.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Test products to agreed requirements, specification, and time scales.
  2. Production support and maintain product ensuring compliance with required statutory regulations.
  3. Specify manufacturing assembly processes, test methods, equipment, and materials.
  4. Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
  5. Assist with engineering information and customer support by answering questions and requests.
  6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  7. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  1. HND, BSc in Electronics or equivalent

Required skills

  1. Proficient in PCB testing (including soldering), debugging and verification of Analog and SMP designs.
  2. Proficient in operating lab equipment: Oscilloscopes DMM, Power Meters, Spectrum Analysers etc.

Preferred Skills

  1. Experience of EMC, immunity and emissions testing and EMC requirements.
  2. Experience of circuit functions: analog amplifiers, control loops and SMP or RF designs.
  3. Experience of embedded programming, C programming, and debugging.
  4. Experience in test automation is a plus.
