TITLE: Production Operative – Box Build CEM & Test

 

POST HOLDER: Cameron Turner   

 

REPORTING TO: Box Build Supervisor

 

      

Job Purpose:

Working to build instructions and training to complete electronic production assemblies primarily for CEM customers ensuring test and batch traceability documentation is completed to the required quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures to build customer specified products to a high standard, assisting with own brand when required.
  • Producing cable harnesses to the wiring instructions
  • Full function testing and fault finding on all Box Build products OEM and CEM
  • Complete all production paperwork accurately and on time
  • Provide hands on job function training to co-workers as needed
  • To participate in consultations with Sales, Customers and Operations where necessary
  • On time delivery with materials and time as per budget
  • Comminate in a polite and profession manner with customers, ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly

 

Metrics

  • Self-sufficient on workload, checking kitting and communicating shortages and possible delays to production with the relevant department or customer where required
  • Ensure route cards are completed accurately
  • Build in accordance with IPC standards and customer specification
  • Complete all production activities accurately and within the defined timescales
  • Actual v Budget review, this is required times to build to actual with hope of improvement to these
  • Suggest improvement initiatives supported to eliminate inefficiencies and rework. (Aim is to achieve zero defects)
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to the appropriate manager
  • Assist with testing in other departments as requirement by business demands

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous electromechanical experience required
  • Familiarity with personal computers and multi meters
  • Soldering experience preferably to IPC standards
  • Previous manufacturing experience

 

Behavioural Competencies/Physical requirements:

  • Good communication skills with staff and customers in a polite and professional manner
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time on repetitive tasks
  • Able to work effectively to deadlines
  • Outstanding attention to detail
