Electrical Technologist

Vancouver (Burnaby), Canada

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Electrical Technologist is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing high frequency switch mode power supplies using state-of-the-art and modern digital power conversion. You will be based in Vancouver (Burnaby), Canada at their state of the art design facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Electrical Technologist

• Handle a variety of technical assignments involving some complexity and recommend solutions to technical problems.
• Build and Test Power Electronic prototypes.
• Component/material selection: evaluation of alternative components and materials on a cost/performance basis.  
• Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical / electronics circuit functionality (reading schematics, etc)
• Work closely with other Designers, Production and Supply Chain to ensure they have everything they need to build new products.

Credentials and Experience as an Electrical Technologist:

• Diploma / Degree Electronics (Technology) program or equivalent
• A few years of related experience will be an asset
• Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical / electronics circuit functionality (reading schematics, etc)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
