Electronics Hardware Engineer

SEA is delighted to announce an exciting new position that has been created for an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our growing Transport Business. In this division our programmes range from Bus Lane & Clean Air Zone ANPR (Automatic Numberplate Recognition) systems, through to Smart Cities.  The ideal candidate will have experience working on the installation and servicing of hardware such as CCTV, ANPR cameras or traffic monitoring cameras and be keen to develop their career. Our Electronics Hardware Engineer will support the design, development and delivery of Traffic Enforcement Systems. You will be working with the systems development, project delivery and support teams in our Bristol office and engaging with customers both in the UK and potentially overseas. What you will be doing:

As a Hardware Engineer you will lead the following tasks in support of the design, development, test, delivery and support of Traffic Enforcement systems provided by SEA:

  • Design of the hardware elements as part of the overall enforcement system, including sub-systems such as camera/sensor hardware, communications, power supply, processor and supporting bracketry and understanding how those hardware elements interface with software and other parts of the overall system.
  • Handover to Delivery and Support teams, including development of method statements and installation guides.
  • Internal and External System Testing and generation of Test Reports.
  • Installation of Systems and support to Field Service Engineers (when required).
  • Provision on 2nd/3rd line support (when required).

 

With an opportunity to develop in the role by supporting:

  • Product Certification (i.e. CE and UKCA documentation).
  • Qualification Testing (i.e. Electro-Magnetic Compatibility and Environmental).
  • Production Readiness (i.e. Generation of Manufacturing and Product Readiness Review and Production Documentation).
  • Perform safety risk assessments.

 

The right person:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working on the installation and servicing of hardware such as CCTV, ANPR cameras or traffic monitoring cameras
  • Experience of hardware or systems design and development, ideally in a related industry or product-based environment.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in an Electronics Engineering Discipline or HND with relevant Experience
  • Essential skills also include experience in system integration and qualification
  • Experience in testing, configuration and support of hardware elements of a system.
