Job Title:  Engineering Technician      

Reports to:  Chief Engineer

Location:  High Bridge, NJ    

Employment Type:  Full-time

Position Summary: 

This position is within the XP Glassman High Voltage Group in High Bridge, NJ and is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the design and testing of high voltage power supplies.  Uses schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions to setup tests and experiments.  With engineering support, can design basic circuits, organize recorded data, and write reports.  Must be able to inspect and debug circuits, test their functions and limits, make repairs, and recommend changes to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support engineers in verifying electronic circuits and components.
• Assemble, disassemble, and modify product prototypes and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to the component level. 
• Solder and rework fine pitch SMT components.
• Assemble bread-boards and test fixtures.
• Provide documentation for ECNs.
• Assist with compliance, stress, qualification testing and reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• An Electrical/Electronic diploma from an accredited program is required.
• 5+ years of work experience in the electronic industry, preferably with power supplies.
• Comfortable working with voltages up 500kV.  High voltage experience is not necessary; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with CE testing and requirements.
• Experience with a variety of lab equipment and power tools.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
• Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion.
• Limited travel may be required.
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
