One of the worlds leading design and manufacturer of batteries, battery chargers, power equipment and battery accessories who turn over $2.5 billion per year with sites across the globe are looking for a new Global Test Centre Manager who will be based in the UK but will manage teams in the US and Europe.
This role will manage teams in the UK, US and Europe so travel abroad is necessary. Because of this you can work remotely when you are in the UK so you can be based from home 50/60% of the time.
If this is of interest, the successful Global Test Centre Manager would also have the opportunity to relocate to the United States in the future with all visa (green card) and relocation costs covered by the company.
The purpose of the Global Test Centre Manager is to manage the day-to-day activities in the testing and validation of batteries, electronics, electrical systems and mechanical assemblies.
This will include managing technical requirements, design quality, product, and costs, according to the companies engineering processes and building blocks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
First and foremost, the Global Test Centre Manager will work directly with the Sr. Director of Verification and Validation (VeVa) to ensure the functional start up of a lithium-Ion testing laboratory in the new Advanced Technology Centre in the US and provide the day-to-day guidance of activities of the lithium test lab.
·You will generate and maintain test schedules and equipment utilization through the use of PPM tools and report the status and issues directly to the Sr Director of VeVa, working also with the PMO to resolve scheduling conflicts with the global resources team.
· Your education and experience is expected to provide technical expertise/independence in electrical and electronic, and systems troubleshooting, analysis, resolution of issues; review of designs and documentation; prototype component sourcing based on product specification.
·The incumbent provides technical depth in mechanical and electrical design testing as well as software test recommendations for engineering tests and analysis.
·Support prototype build, test, and analyse in support of product development.
·Responsible for the documentation and calibration of all test equipment in the lithium lab
·Responsible for working with test equipment suppliers to size and procure needed test equipment
·Provide all VeVa support for the generation of capital expenditures and AR’s for needed equipment and build of the test facilities in the new Technology Centre
In addition to the testing required in the aforementioned responsibilities, the Global Test Centre Manager will be responsible for the design and development of a prototype shop for the assembly and prototyping of all the products for preproduction testing.
Experience Required
·Experience in battery or electrical system testing and team management of those activities with a support staff.
·Mandatory experience for supervising and/or managing teams in a battery and electronics environment
·Requires a minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering preferably electrical, or mechanical. As alternate 10-15 years’ experience in electronics or mechanical system testing with 2 years of managing teams, such as armed services technician experience in a highly disciplined environment. Other BS degrees in a technical field would be considered.
