A leading mechanical / structural engineering design organisation based in Bournemouth are seeking a skilled Graduate Mechanical Engineer! This business has an incredible history of building, designing and developing multi-million pound complex structures, barriers, bridges and crane systems across the globe.
This company is widely recognised as the UK’s leading specialist consultant in the field of hydro-mechanical design as they cover all manner of specialist moving structures and systems. They are market leaders in their industry and are growing year on year. Due to growth they are looking to add an Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to their team.
As an Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing engineering solutions for clients world-wide in markets associated with water control, moving structures and renewable energy (tidal energy and hydropower). You will be involved in calculating, analysing and designing mechanical structures, such as large-scale steel gates, barriers with moving mechanisms. This role will involve calculations using Mathcad, FEA using ANSYS and 3D CAD design.
The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer must have:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Well versed in all mechanical disciplines including stress analysis, 2D & 3D design and the use of simulation software
- Experience in manual calculations using Mathcad
- Additional post graduate experience is considered advantageous
