Hardware Engineering Director job available in Reading, Berkshire.
A rapidly expanding research and development organisation that design and manufacture highly complex and innovative hardware systems for the satellite communication industry are seeking a capable executive level Hardware Engineering Director to join their business in Reading, Berkshire.
The Hardware Engineering Director will have an academic background in Electronic Engineering, and a track record of technical road mapping, project management, and growing engineering teams.
As the Hardware Engineering Director, you will be responsible for assisting with business strategy during a rapid growth phase, which will involve recruitment and managing organisational structure. You will also deliver technology projects to meet strict timescales and budgets, working closely with senior managers in R&D and manufacturing.
Skills / Experience we’re looking for:
- Executive / Director level experience in managing hardware / electronic engineering.
- Product road mapping and project delivery.
- To have managed projects from concept to manufacture and point of sale.
- To have worked with design management and supply chain management.
- Previous experience in growing and upscaling small to medium size businesses.
- An academic background in Electronic Engineering.
- Engineering design experience with highfrequency PCBs or RF Engineering would be beneficial but not essential.
- Previous industry experience in satellite communications, government / defence projects, or radio frequency technology would be beneficial but not essential.
