Octagon Group are working with a market-leading Technology in Edinburgh City in Scotland. This company designs and develops cuttings edge body-worn camera technologies for a range of industries globally. The company are currently experiencing a period of significant growth and are looking to expand into new territories and product areas and in line with this expansion are seeking an experienced Java Software Developer to join their engineering team in Edinburgh, Scotland.
As a Java Software Developer – Embedded Electronics you will play an important role within a fast-paced development environment, working across the full tech stack and focussing particularly on front-end development. You will have the opportunity to design and implement cutting edge applications whilst proactively improving existing architecture, performance and scalability of existing products. If you are excited by the challenge of working with new technologies in an ever-changing industry, this could be the ideal role for you.
Requirements for the Java Software Engineer job in Edinburgh, Scotland:
- Strong expertise in Java programming for the development of an electronic product / for an embedded system.
- Exposure to Java Development Kit (JDK)
- Front-end scripting experience in JavaScript, HTML, Typescript and/or similar languages
- Experience with multi-media technologies
- Exposure to C or C++ language
- Multithreaded development experience
- Exposure to cloud technologies advantageous
