Marketing Communications Executive

Remuneration: Circa £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Within commuting distance of Theale, Berkshire

Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Director

The Company

Founded in 1993, Electronic Frontier Limited (EFL) is a value-added distributor of converged IP solutions and is a member of the Arcum Group of Companies (www.arcum.co.uk).

The portfolio of products supplied includes Broadband, Voice over IP (VoIP), Security, Wireless LAN, Networking switches, Storage and IP Surveillance products from leading vendors. These products are backed with a comprehensive range of value-added services including certified training, design, pre- and post-sales support and site survey amongst others.

Targeted primarily at the SME and Enterprise markets, these solutions are supplied to System Integrators, Value Added Resellers, Service Providers, Telcos and Catalogue/Web Resellers.

Job description and overall responsibilities

The Marketing function with EFL is integral to the overall Sales & Marketing effort and is therefore a role of great importance and influence. This position is responsible for all marketing related activities – from website design and management and email shots to literature design and media-related communications. Working closely with Sales, there will also be a requirement to manage the company’s internal CRM system and databases.

It will require good experience, especially within web design and HTML programming, acquired in a similar role over a 2-3 year period, a strong ‘can do’ approach and lots of enthusiasm and energy. It will also require an ability to communicate with all levels within EFL and in external organisations.

The role is based in EFL’s offices in Theale, Berkshire and might involve occasional travel to customer and or vendor locations in the UK. There will be occasions when extended hours need to be worked to complete the job.

Specific Responsibilities include

1. Website Development – developing, managing and updating the Company’s website

including social networking (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) feeds.

2. Direct Marketing Campaigns – in conjunction with the sales team prepare and distribute email broadsheets on a regular basis. Manage relevant database(s).

3. Press Releases – referring to new products or enhancements, news relating to sales, contracts and strategic agreements. Ensuring Company’s products and news items are put forward for inclusion in all relevant trade features, including product reviews.

4. Literature Design – responsible for the production of company/ product related literature.

5. Vendor liaison – liaise with vendors to co-ordinate joint marketing efforts. Maintain both master and vendor-specific Marcom schedules for each vendor and an overall.

6. Marketing planning – work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director and senior management to contribute significantly to marketing thinking and execution of plans.

7. Product Knowledge – develop a sufficient knowledge of the products which allows decisions to be taken regarding which products to promote, to whom and for what reasons.

8. Miscellaneous tasks – including:

· Co-ordinate marketing communications activities and events, as required

· Maintain price lists

· Provide activity reports on a monthly basis and any other reports, as required.

Qualification and experience required

1. The experience required for the position will ideally have been gained from working in a technology distribution environment. It will require:

· A good working knowledge of WordPress, or similar, and experience in the design and development of websites.

· Experience in running Social Networking campaigns (LinkedIn, Facebook,Twitter).

· Experience in designing e-shots and managing e-mail campaigns.

· Experience in producing newsletters and collateral, requiring familiarity with design software such as InDesign or Quark Express.

· Highly PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft computer packages (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint etc.).

· Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision on a number of concurrent projects.

· An ability to meet previously agreed deadlines.
